How to Get Rid of Eczema on the Face
Eczema home remedies for itch relief
Unfortunately, eczema is a chronic condition that will stay with you for the rest of your life. But that doesn’t mean that you have to deal with the symptoms on your own, there are a variety of things you can do and products that you can use to alleviate the symptoms of eczema. Here is an overview on how to get rid of eczema on the face.
Although you can’t get rid of eczema, by utilizing a few products you can reduce the frequency of flare-ups that occur so that it doesn’t have to be as much of a nuisance as it can be when left unchecked.
Before we begin, lets have a look at what eczema is and why you have it. Eczema is a condition in which certain sections of your skin become rough, inflamed and eventually cause itching blisters that can bleed due to constant scratching. The reason why you are experiencing this condition is due to the fact that you have naturally dry skin. So the key to alleviate the symptoms of eczema is to give the affected area sufficient moisture so that it can compensate for being naturally dry.
The flare ups that you experience can be based on several things, each of which affects different people in different ways, for some people dryness and dust mites cause their flare-ups while for some, excessive heat/cold and or physical and mental stress cause their flare ups to occur.
But the main line of defense that you can use to avoid flare ups is to use an emollient , or in other words, a highly rich moisturizer. I highly recommend that you utilize a moisturizers such as Aqueous Cream because it’s lanolin free, why? Because many manufacturers use lanolin as a part of their compounds whenever they manufacture and distribute moisturizers, and this can cause your skin to react and eventually flare up.
Another product I highly recommend that you use to alleviate your eczema symptoms, especially if you’re a bit older and or notice fine lines and wrinkles, is Aloe Vera moisturizing lotion made by the company Forever Living. The reason why I recommend this product is because it is lanolin free and it contains collagen. Collagen is a protein that is naturally secreted in the body that helps to maintain your skin’s elasticity. As we age, the production rate of collagen decreases and thus fine lines and wrinkles appear. But by utilizing a moisturizer that contains collagen, you can alleviate the symptoms of your condition while bringing back a certain degree of elasticity to your skin.
When it comes to flare ups that occurs around the eyes though, a more effective product would be hydrocortisone, a prescription based medication that you can acquire after consulting your GP about your particular circumstance.
It’s also worth noting that you should look at the circumstances that cause your flare ups to occur. For example, if you notice that the frequency of your flare ups has a direct correlation to high temperatures that you experience on some days while in your home, try during town the heating unit you utilize or by turning up the A/C on especially hot days.
